Everyone has been thinking about who will be the next Chief Minister of Telangana. But KATIPALLY VENKATA RAMANA REDDY of the BJP had a surprising victory over former CM KCR and PCC president A Revanth Reddy in the Kamareddy assembly constituency.
Venkata Ramana Reddy’s win was a big story, defeating two very prominent leaders. KCR received 59,911 votes, finishing in second place, while Revanth got 54,916 votes for third. Venkata Ramana Reddy was the winner with 66,652 votes. Early in the counting, it looked like Revanth of the Congress party would come out on top with a sizable lead, and Venkata Ramana Reddy of the BJP was in third. But things changed at the end, with Venkata Ramana Reddy surpassing Revanth for first, while KCR maintained second place throughout.
KCR and Revanth had both decided to run in two constituencies each, seeing it as an opportunity to one-up each other politically. But in their second races, they both ended up losing to the BJP candidate Venkata Ramana Reddy, who was less well-known than KCR and Revanth.
