A victory of a father you must know from Chhattisgarh State, who lost his son in an attack made by mob.

ISHWAR SHAHU

This time, the elections in all 5 states had unexpected results. In Chhattisgarh, the BJP came to power after five years. In the state, the BJP won 54 seats while the Congress won only 35 seats.

We need to talk and appreciate the courage of the candidate, and that is Ishwar Sahu. Ishwar Sahu, father of Bhuvaneshwar Sahu, lost his child in an attack carried out by a group of assailants. As Ishwar Sahu worked as a laborer, he sought assistance from his local member of the legislative assembly (MLA), Ravindra Choubey, who had been successfully elected seven consecutive times representing the Congress party.

However, rather than providing support, the MLA turned against Ishwar’s family. But the town residents and people across the state stood with Ishwar’s family. Still, the state government failed to deliver justice for Ishwar. There was a strong belief that due to considerations of minority votes, the Congress-led state government did not take appropriate action against those responsible for the attack.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supported Ishwar Shahu’s candidacy for the Saja Legislative Assembly seat. At the election, Mr. Shahu secured a victory with over 5,000 more votes than his opponent, Ravindra Choubey. By winning this contest, Ishwar Shahu demonstrated his ability to defeat Mr. Choubey and represent the constituency in the state legislature. With the BJP’s endorsement, Mr. Shahu was able to gain sufficient support from voters in Saja to achieve success at the polls. His majority of more than 5,000 votes illustrates the mandate he received to serve the community.

Amit Malviya said in a social media post on “X”,”He is Eshwar Sahu, a labour, now a BJP MLA in Chattisgarh. We fielded him, after his son was killed by a Muslim mob, and the Congress chose to side with the murderers. Today, he defeated Ravindra Choubey, a 7-time Congress MLA! He won’t get his son back but some closure perhaps.”
